Amigos de Nahual
Amigos de Nahual is an organization to raise financial support for the Asociación Nahual located in Antigua, Guatemala
Vision: Guatemalan citizens committed to social, cultural and economic development
Mission: Asociación Nahual trains in progressive organizing for social, economic and environmental justice to improve policy for indigenous and marginalized people.
Asociación Nahual Project Areas:
- Leadership development: training for grass-roots community leaders
- Policy: promoting collaboration between local communities, non-profits, and governmental agencies
- Cultural Preservation: arts and culture activities
- Education and Service: internships
Current priority: emergency response to tropical storm Agatha. Asociación Nahual is collaborating with 200 national and international NGOs, the National Agency for Disaster reduction, and Mayors from the Sacatepequez department, by organizing and training leaders to deliver relief aid.
